Bulgarian tennis player Yanaki Milev recorded a remarkable success in the qualification phase of the prestigious tennis tournament "Challenger" in the German city of Bonn. The national athlete overcame an extremely competitive qualification round, demonstrating impressive psychological resilience and professional mastery.
In a decisive match, Milev prevailed over his Romanian opponent Sebastian Jima after an intriguing battle with a score of 7:5, 6:4, lasting 93 tense minutes. A key moment in the match was the dramatic turnaround when the Bulgarian tennis player managed to turn around an unfavorable start from 0:3 and 4:5 in his favor.
The first set was won after a series of three consecutive games, which showed Milev's mental strength. In the second set, he again demonstrated character, after trailing 1:3, but managed to win five of the next six games and closed the match with his first match point.
This success brought Milev 4 points in the world rankings and a cash prize of 950 euros. Before that, he also eliminated the sixth-seeded qualifier Neil Oberleitner from Austria with a score of 6:4, 3:6, 6:4 after a two-hour match.
It remains to be seen who Milev's opponent will be in the first round of the main draw of the tournament with a prize fund of 91,250 euros.
