A young Bulgarian tennis player Anthony Genov experienced a bitter moment during an international tournament in the Italian city of Montesilvano. In a hard-fought quarterfinal doubles match, the 23-year-old athlete and his teammate Andrea Paolini lost to local players Andrea Colombo and Giulio Perego.
The match result was extremely dynamic - 6:4, 1:6, 5:10 in favor of the Italian pair. The total match time was 81 minutes, with the decisive third part turning into a true psychological battle between the players.
At the critical moment of the match, Genov and Paolini initially fell behind 1:4, but managed to show character and equalize the score. However, in the end, their opponents succeeded in winning six points against one, which predetermined the final outcome.
An interesting fact is that a week before this tournament, the Bulgarian tennis player had achieved a remarkable result, reaching the semifinals of another competition in Italy. The tournament in Montesilvano had a prize fund of 30 thousand dollars and was held on a clay court.
Despite the setback, the young Bulgarian tennis player showed potential and fighting spirit that will undoubtedly be useful in his future international performances.
