At the European Weightlifting Championship for cadets in the Spanish capital, a young Bulgarian athlete impressed with his professional performance. Daniel Todorov finished in an honorable ninth place in the extremely competitive category up to 79 kilograms for boys under 15 years old.
In the highly contested competition, the Bulgarian talent demonstrated stability and technical skill, successfully completing five attempts. His total competition result reached 234 kilograms, distributed between 105 kilograms in the snatch and 129 kilograms in the clean and jerk. His only unsuccessful moment was the attempt to lift 134 kilograms.
The Turkish competitor Igithan Eroglu won first place with an impressive 277 kilograms, leading from the beginning with 128 kilograms in the snatch and consolidating his leadership with 149 kilograms in the clean and jerk. The Polish athlete Sebastian Grzymala took second place with a total of 268 kilograms, and the Georgian Nikoloz Jalagonia completed the top three with the same total.
