The drastically hampered acceptance of shipments for the United States, announced by the state-owned company Bulgarian Posts, has become a major problem for customers who need to send correspondence or goods across the ocean. As of today, the acceptance of all shipments for the USA has been temporarily suspended, which creates significant difficulties for citizens and businesses. The official reason, announced by the company, is related to the changes planned by the American administration in the customs servicing of incoming shipments.

The decision by Bulgarian Posts comes against a backdrop of increasing tension and logistical challenges in international postal traffic to the USA. As early as August 21, the company announced that a significant delay in deliveries was expected, which was the first sign of the problems to come. It was then pointed out that the Universal Postal Union was developing an alternative solution that would enable postal operators to declare and pay duties directly to the American authorities. This measure is a direct response to the new customs regulations imposed by Washington, the purpose of which is to tighten control over imports.

The situation in Bulgaria is not an isolated case. On the same day, a number of postal operators in Europe also announced expected difficulties in the delivery of parcels to the USA. This is an indication that the new regulations from Washington have a far-reaching impact and are putting pressure on the international postal network. The next day, the German postal company "Deutsche Post" announced that it would also significantly limit parcel shipments from Germany to the USA. According to information distributed by Agence France-Presse, this decision is in response to the tightening customs regulations, which underscores the seriousness of the situation.

The suspension of the service by Bulgarian Posts creates serious uncertainty for thousands of citizens and companies that rely on postal services for communication and commercial operations with the USA. Currently, there is no clarity on exactly when the acceptance will be restored, as the company promises that if the situation changes, the information will be published in a timely manner on their official website. This remains the only hope for all those affected by the unexpected logistical changes. The temporary suspension of shipments highlights how sensitive the global trade and postal system is to regulatory changes and how decisions made in Washington have a direct impact on the daily activities of companies and people around the world.
