The government is developing a unique educational project that will enable hundreds of children from the Bulgarian community in Moldova to learn about their roots and language. During an official meeting in the city of Taraclia, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov announced an ambitious initiative he called a kind of Bulgarian "Erasmus".

According to the plan, between 200 and 400 ethnic Bulgarian children will have the opportunity to visit Bulgaria annually, with the aim of deepening their knowledge of national traditions, history, and improving language skills. During the diplomatic meeting with Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean, specific mechanisms for implementing the program were discussed.

"Our DNA carries the wisdom of generations, and you are proof that the Bulgarian spirit continues to live," Zhelyazkov emphasized during the meeting with local mayors and the leadership of the Taraclia district, led by Chairman Lazar Dermenzhi.

Among the key highlights of the visit was the official presentation of the Ruse University "Angel Kanchev" branch in Taraclia. The Prime Minister defined education as a fundamental element for achieving democratic development and social prosperity.

During the two-day visit, issues related to improving infrastructure in areas with compact Bulgarian population were discussed. The Moldovan government has taken a specific commitment to targeted investments in these communities.

Local mayors expressed exceptional gratitude for Bulgarian state support, emphasizing effective cooperation with local authorities in addressing community challenges.

Within the visit, an official ceremony is forthcoming to sign an agreement for transferring ownership of the premises of the former Taraclia University, which will be provided to the university branch.

The visit of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov is another step in strengthening Bulgarian-Moldovan relations and caring for Bulgarian communities abroad.
