Bulgarian gymnasts with a prestigious eighth place at the World Cup in Romania

The National Ensemble in Rhythmic Gymnastics achieves a solid result in Cluj-Napoca, a week before the World Championship in Brazil.

The Bulgarian women's rhythmic gymnastics ensemble recorded a remarkable performance at the World Cup in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca, occupying the prestigious eighth position in the final ranking.

The team, including the talented athletes Sofia Ivanova, Rachel Stoyanova, Alina Kolomiets, Danaya Atanasova, and Emilia Obretenova, received a comprehensive score of 22.750 points. Their result includes 11.500 points for complexity, 6.550 for artistry, and 5.000 for technical execution, with a minimal penalty point assessment of 0.30.

The coaching staff, led by Vesela Dimitrova and Yasena Stoyneva, managed to bring the girls to the top eight among the best national teams in the final competition with five ribbons.

This tournament serves as the final control check before the upcoming World Championship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which will take place at the end of August.

In the intermediate ranking, the Spanish ensemble leads with an impressive 26.900 points, followed by the Japanese team with 25.300 and the Polish team with 24.300 points.

Bulgarian referee Christiana Todorova was part of the technical jury that evaluated the complexity of the sports equipment.

The upcoming competition days will include combinations with three and two hoops, after which the winners in individual and team championships will be determined. The Bulgarian ensemble is placed number 10 in group B, with the start of their performances scheduled for 7:30 PM.
