On July 17, the London Bulgarian Orthodox community will gather at the "St. John of Rila" temple to commemorate the memory of Saint Great Martyr Marina through traditional liturgical rituals. The liturgy is planned in two consecutive time zones - morning matins at 09:30 and holy liturgy at 10:30 local time.
The temple, solemnly consecrated in February 2025 by Patriarch Daniel, represents a spiritual center for Bulgarians in the British capital. The church community, whose roots date back to 1981, continues to maintain a living connection with Orthodox traditions among the expatriate community.
The service aims not only for religious worship but also for preserving cultural identity. Believers will have the opportunity to pray for health and protection, while honoring Saint Marina - the patroness of fire and healing water.
Parallel to the London initiative, the community also marked another significant milestone - the 110th anniversary of the Bulgarian temple in Toronto, which further emphasizes the international scale of Bulgarian Orthodoxy.
