In an extremely competitive competition, held from July 5 to 8, 2025, in the German city of Warnemünde, Bulgarian sailor Alexandra Lukoyanova demonstrated impressive mastery among 142 elite athletes from across Europe.
The representative of the Burgas yacht club "Chernomorets" recorded a remarkable fifth place in the general classification, which combines men and women, and won a bronze medal in the women's race. Her result is particularly significant, as she outperformed several established names, including Danish athlete Anna Munch - fourth in the last world championship.
This success elevates Bulgaria to the top of the EurILCA European Cup and positions Lukoyanova as a temporary leader in the ILCA 6 Olympic class - an unprecedented achievement for Bulgarian sailing.
Participation in Warnemünde is considered a key stage in the athlete's preparation for the upcoming European Championship in the Swedish city of Marstrand, where she will represent the national sports colors.
