Leading Bulgarian tennis player Denislava Glushkova suffered an unexpected defeat at the prestigious tournament in Kuršumlija Banja, Serbia, which has a prize fund of 15,000 dollars.

The number one seeded player failed to complete her semifinal match against Danish player Rebecca Munk Mortensen due to an injury sustained during the match. Initially, Glushkova had a significant advantage, leading 4:2 at the beginning of the first set.

Despite the good start, the Bulgarian won only one of the next six games. In the second part of the match, she sought medical assistance when the score was 3:4, and at 3:5 she ultimately decided to withdraw from the match.

Before this dramatic match, Glushkova had achieved three consecutive victories without losing a set, which makes her withdrawal particularly surprising for her fans.
