The international tourism exhibition "Tour Salon" took place in the Polish city of Poznań, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship with a population of 3.5 million people. An announcement about this was published on the Facebook page of the Bulgarian Embassy in Warsaw.
Our country's participation in the event was organized by the National Tourist Representation at the Bulgarian Embassy in Warsaw, headed by Nikolay Kostov.
Visitors to the exhibition had the opportunity to attend a one-hour presentation of Bulgaria. Bulgarian Ambassador to Poland Margarita Ganeva and Prof. Rafał Dymczyk from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, who owns the Polish travel agency "Balkan Travel", took part in it.
During the exhibition, Ambassador Ganeva met with representatives of key institutions and organizations. Among them were J. Bogusławski from the Tax Office of the Greater Poland Voivodeship, responsible for the economic, environmental and tourism sector, as well as Mariusz Wiśniewski, Deputy Mayor of Poznań, responsible for international cooperation. The Ambassador also met with Małgorzata Wilczek-Grzywna, Vice President of the Polish Tourist Organization, as well as with representatives of the airport and low-cost airlines.
The diplomatic mission of Bulgaria in Warsaw recalled that Poznań and Plovdiv have been partner cities for many years.
According to the latest report of the Polish Chamber of Tourism, Bulgaria ranks sixth among the most popular destinations for organized summer trips. Given the upcoming official opening of the new Honorary Consulate of our country in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, with headquarters in the city of Poznań, as well as the significant undeveloped potential for cooperation with Plovdiv and the region, the need for the early opening of a year-round aviation link between Bulgaria and Poland was emphasized. Connecting the airports in Plovdiv and Poznań was highlighted as a priority. According to the Bulgarian Embassy in Poland, such a connection would be a real contribution to the development of bilateral exchange in the economy, business, investments, science and education, culture and tourism.
The Bulgarian Embassy added in its announcement that the two fair centers also have ample opportunity for joint projects and mutual participation.
