In Samokov, the Bulgarian anthem resounded once more, and the hall in the “SamElion“ complex was transformed into an arena of true sporting magic. The Bulgarian national team for women in aesthetic group gymnastics touched perfection and won the world title – a title earned with character, style, and inimitable beauty.
Karina Neykova, Siyana Tabakova, Hristiana Kovacheva, Viktoria Berova, Yana Staykova, Maria Mehlemova, and Katrin Taseva shone as one – strong, synchronized, and inspired. For the second time after Graz 2022, these girls stood at the top of the world, and the gold from the European Championship in Hungary only confirmed a season that can hardly be described with words.
Under the leadership of coach Kristina Tasheva, the Bulgarian graces gathered 58.700 points – a result that deservedly put them ahead of all competitors. On the first day, they received 29.250 points, and in the finals, they improved to 29.450, showing that when the hall holds its breath, they are the strongest.
In second place was Madonna (neutral status) with 56.800 points, and the Finnish Minetit finished third with 56.650. Akademik shared seventh place with the Japanese JWCPE AGG Team, proving fighting spirit and a stable presence among the best.
Among the audience was also the senior coach of the national rhythmic gymnastics ensemble, Vesela Dimitrova, who supported the Bulgarian team and shared the emotion of this triumph.
But the celebration for Bulgaria did not stop there. Our girls also won a place on the podium after winning the bronze medals at the World Championship. Dalia Ivanova, Linoy Georgieva, Andrea Hristova, Adriana Mihailova, Daria Nacheva, Zhaklin Naydenova, Andrea Sarafova, and Nikol Zlatkova defended the honor of Bulgaria with a total score of 54.650 points – 27.500 on the first day and 27.150 in the finals.
The gold in the girls' category went to Madonna Junior (neutral status) with 56.300 points, and Minetit Junior from Finland secured the silver with 55.550. Akademik Junior finished in seventh place with 52.750 points and showed that the future of this sport in our country is secure and bright.
A total of 77 teams in the women's and girls' categories participated in the world forum in Samokov – a true celebration of elegance and will. And next year, the best in this fine and strong sport will cross paths again in Osaka, Japan, where the world stage awaits new stories, new emotions and, hopefully, new Bulgarian successes.
