Within the framework of the fourth Conference for the Reconstruction of Ukraine (URC 2025), held in the Italian capital, the most influential political figures from the international community gathered. Among the participants were President Volodymyr Zelensky, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, European institution leaders Ursula von der Leyen and Antonio Costa.
The forum focused on coordinating large-scale international efforts to achieve lasting peace and stabilize the Ukrainian state. The main discussions were centered on financial mechanisms for support in 2026, as well as mobilizing diverse resources from governments, international organizations, and the private sector.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov highlighted the significant potential of domestic businesses to participate in the reconstruction processes. In his statement to journalists, he emphasized Bulgaria's consistent support for the Ukrainian people, which should continue even after the end of military actions.
During his bilateral meeting with President Zelensky, Zhelyazkov emphasized deepening cooperation in the energy sector. The two leaders discussed specific issues related to ensuring regional energy security.
As a token of appreciation, the Ukrainian president thanked the Bulgarian prime minister for his active participation in the conference and the meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing". Zelensky noted Bulgaria's support regarding Ukraine's European integration and ongoing defense assistance.
