Bulgaria calls for diplomacy: The war in Ukraine cannot be resolved on the battlefield

Minister Velislava Petrova and Prime Minister Radev emphasized the need for a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine. Bulgaria insists on negotiations and acknowledges the socio-economic damage caused by the war.

Diplomatic efforts for peace in Ukraine

Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova stated that there is a unified position within the Bulgarian government regarding the need to seek lasting peace through European mechanisms. She emphasized that communication with Ukraine is aimed at high-level dialogue.

Every subsequent decision regarding aid – whether military-technical or humanitarian, will be taken according to the established procedure with a decision of the Council of Ministers and a debate in the National Assembly, Petrova emphasized.

Bulgaria continues to insist on a comprehensive and realistic approach to the crisis, calling on both sides to sit at the negotiating table to achieve a just peace.
