Bulgaria presents its National Plan for energy independence and an end to Russian gas

Bulgaria has submitted to the EC a National Plan for the diversification of natural gas supplies. The strategy focuses on the Vertical Gas Corridor, LNG markets, and energy security.

Bulgaria eliminates dependence on Russian gas

The Ministry of Energy has officially submitted to the European Commission a National Plan for the diversification of natural gas supplies. The document is in accordance with the new EU regulation on phasing out Russian imports.

"With this strategic document, Bulgaria shows that it is acting in a timely, consistent manner and in full compliance with European goals," stated Minister Traicho Traikov.

Key priorities in the plan:

The country is already implementing specific infrastructure projects that aim not only for Bulgaria's energy independence but also for strengthening regional energy security.
