Bulgaria has the potential to increase its competitiveness in the automotive industry by expanding its contribution to the sector, said outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. This became clear from a publication by the Council of Ministers on Facebook.
The two leaders spoke at an informal meeting of EU leaders in Liege, Belgium. Zhelyazkov stressed that Bulgaria can become from a manufacturer of components into a creator of high-tech developments.
Bulgaria is open to investments in areas such as the automotive industry, electronics, IT, and outsourcing, thanks to the potential in computer science and artificial intelligence.
The outgoing Prime Minister also met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, discussing topics such as reducing bureaucracy, energy security, and improving network connectivity.
