Bulgaria and Uzbekistan: New Horizons for Economic Partnership

The ministers of regional development and investments from Bulgaria and Uzbekistan outlined a strategic plan to deepen bilateral economic relations, identifying specific areas for joint cooperation.

The diplomatic meeting between Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development Ivan Ivanov and Uzbek Minister of Investments Laziz Kudratov marked the beginning of a new stage in interstate relations. Experts discussed the potential for expanding economic ties between the two countries, identifying key areas for future interaction.

Minister Ivanov emphasized the strategic importance of Uzbekistan as a promising partner in the Central Asian region. He expressed categorical support for intensifying bilateral dialogue and developing joint investment projects in various economic sectors.

Priority areas of cooperation were identified as transport connectivity, construction, infrastructure, and trade. The two ministers discussed the possibility of holding the sixth session of the Bulgarian-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission in the autumn.

"We want to expand the contractual and legal framework and include new areas of interaction," Ivanov stated. He emphasized readiness for exchanging expert experience in the field of regional development and seeking joint initiatives.

For his part, Minister Kudratov expressed an unambiguous position on the need for more intensive economic convergence. "We realize that we have missed many opportunities for partnership," the Uzbek representative was categorical.

Kudratov emphasized establishing direct contacts between Bulgarian and Uzbek companies from various industries. The two sides united around the vision that joint efforts can generate new dynamics in bilateral relations.

The meeting reinforced the impression of mutual interest and readiness to deepen economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Uzbekistan, outlining specific perspectives for future development.
