Bulgaria and Armenia Deepen Technological Partnership

Vice Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev and the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at expanding bilateral relations in innovative technological fields.

During the 9th session of the Bulgarian-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission, held at Sofia Tech Park, new perspectives for bilateral economic cooperation were outlined. The official delegation from Armenia, led by Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, held a series of strategic meetings with Bulgarian state representatives.

Tomislav Donchev emphasized the importance of the partnership, highlighting Bulgaria's achieved technological capacity in key areas such as information technologies, artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering, and mechatronics. The minister underscored the potential for mutual expertise exchange and joint innovative projects.

A key moment of the visit was the signing of a Cooperation Memorandum covering multiple strategic directions. Priority areas include digital and green transition, emerging technologies, microelectronics, space policies, IT specialist exchange, and entrepreneurial ecosystem development.

During the bilateral meeting, opportunities for investment promotion and deepening business relations were discussed. The presence of Ambassador Tsovinar Hambardzumyan further emphasized the diplomatic significance of the meeting.

As part of the official program, the delegation visited the Discoverer+ Supercomputer, where the vice-premier presented Bulgaria's achievements in artificial intelligence. Minister Hayrapetyan expressed confidence that research collaboration would create new opportunities for both countries.

Experts from both sides held in-depth discussions on current trade and economic issues and potential directions for expanding bilateral cooperation. The emphasis was placed on the mutual benefits of deepening technological partnership.

The achieved agreements demonstrate Bulgaria and Armenia's commitment to developing innovative forms of cooperation that go beyond traditional diplomatic relations and focus on technological progress and economic development.
