Bulgaria and Albania Discussed Their Contributions to NATO

The defense ministers of Bulgaria and Albania discussed their cooperation within NATO, emphasizing the development of deterrence and defense capabilities on the Alliance's Eastern Flank.

Outgoing Defense Minister Atanas Zaprvanov and his Albanian counterpart Niko Piro Vang discuss the contributions of Bulgaria and Albania to NATO's measures to enhance capabilities. The meeting took place today, with the Albanian minister on a working visit to our country.

The main focus of the talks was the contribution of the two countries to the implementation of measures for deterrence and defense on NATO's Eastern Flank. Attention was also paid to the development of the operational capabilities of the Multinational Battle Group NATO in Bulgaria.

The Albanian delegation visited the Novo Selo training ground, where Minister Vangu met with the Albanian military personnel of the Multinational Battle Group. In September, Atanas Zaprvanov visited Tirana, where they discussed the strategic importance of Pan-European Corridor No. 8, cooperation in NATO and opportunities for joint initiatives in the defense industry.
