On November 1st, according to the Christian calendar, believers observe Archangel's (Men's) All Souls' Day. This day is dedicated to honoring the memory of the deceased, as well as expressing gratitude to the fallen warriors who gave their lives for Bulgaria. Archangel's All Souls' Day is one of the three largest All Souls' Days in the church calendar, and this day takes on particular significance for all who mourn their loved ones and honor the heroes who sacrificed themselves for the country.
The city-wide commemoration this year will begin at 10:00 AM in front of the House of the Deceased in Trauren Park - Burgas. The melody of mournful music, performed by the Burgas Brass Band, will fill the air, creating an atmosphere of humility and respect. A little later, at 10:30 AM, a memorial prayer will be served.
In the following minutes, at 11:00 AM, traditionally, flowers will be laid on memorial plaques of citizens of Burgas, selected at random. This ceremony aims to pay tribute to iconic figures of the city who have left a lasting mark on the history and development of Burgas.
From 11:30 AM, the commemoration will move to the monument of the 24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment, in front of the Military Club. Here, with a memorial prayer and a military ritual of laying wreaths and flowers, deep respect will be paid to the officers and soldiers of the Bulgarian army who gave their lives for the freedom of their homeland. The place will gradually fill with people who have come to honor the memory of the fallen heroes, whose sacrifice remains a symbol of courage and dedication. It is worth noting the solemn atmosphere, in which every detail of the ritual underscores the respect for those who fought for the freedom of Bulgaria.
