Representatives of the tourism sector in the Nesebar municipality are meeting with the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Arch. Ivan Shishkov, and the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ilin Dimitrov. The event is part of a series of discussions titled "Resorts and Infrastructure," aimed at achieving more effective cooperation between state structures, local government, and business representatives in resort areas.
During the talks, Arch. Shishkov sharply criticized the long-standing existence of negative factors hindering the prosperity of the Sunny Beach resort. According to him, the consequences of these processes have demotivated investors in the hotel industry from operating under current conditions. "It is obvious – for years, someone has tolerated a parasite that has done nothing to help the development of Sunny Beach, but quite the opposite – it has brought things to a point where all these hoteliers no longer wish to develop tourism under these rules," the minister stated.
The regional minister is insisting on full transparency regarding those who do not comply with the regulatory framework in the resort. He firmly declared his intention to request data on the shareholders who are blocking the development of the complex. "The time has come for everyone in this country to know who those people are who do not want the law to be applied. That is the most sensible thing. I will now demand to know which shareholders are unwilling. Let us find out who and why does not want to develop Sunny Beach," he emphasized.
In conclusion, Arch. Shishkov categorized the current situation as a violation of legal norms and stressed the need for decisive action to put an end to it. He identified the transfer of infrastructure facilities to the municipality and the water and sewage network to the relevant operating company as key solutions. "What has been happening for years is absolutely unlawful and must be brought to an end," the minister declared.
