The Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of APS, Hayri Sadakov, proposed Andrey Gyurov as caretaker Prime Minister to President Iliana Iotova during consultations for forming a caretaker cabinet. Iotova emphasized the importance of consultations for holding fair elections and the need to calm the public against the backdrop of economic challenges.
Sadakov pointed out that APS supports the decision to elect a caretaker Prime Minister and cabinet that meets public expectations. He stressed the need for fair elections and zero tolerance for bought and corporate votes. In addition, APS called on the President to veto the amendments to the Electoral Code to restrict polling stations outside the EU.
