On April 7, 2026, the Burgas Art Gallery “Petko Zadgorski” celebrates a significant anniversary – 80 years since its establishment. The gallery, founded in 1946, is a key cultural institution in Burgas, a guardian of artistic heritage and an active participant in the cultural life of the city and the country.

On the occasion of the celebration, a special event will take place on April 7th at 5:30 PM, where the poly-screen multimedia work “Construction in Progress” will be presented, created by Petko Manchev with materials from the gallery's fund. The project combines music, visual art, and archival testimonies, tracing the development of the institution over the decades. The texts for the presentation have been prepared by art historian Elisaveta Stancheva.

During the event, guests will have the opportunity to get acquainted with emblematic works from the collections, as well as archival materials, revealing the history and development of the institution. The festive atmosphere will be complemented by the partnership with the Dragomir Winery, which will offer a wine tasting.

The marking of the anniversary is part of Burgas's candidacy for “European Capital of Culture” in 2032, underlining the importance of the gallery as a leading cultural center and a symbol of the creative development of the city.
