The Burgas Municipal Council adopted a comprehensive agenda. Changes in parking fees, budget forecasts for 2026, new rules for pets, and investments in the oncology center were discussed.

Important Decisions for Burgas: Parking, Budget and Healthcare

The thirty-seventh meeting of the Burgas Municipal Council passed with an extremely dense agenda of 34 items. The councilors made decisions that affect both the daily lives of citizens and the long-term development of the municipality.

Parking and fees without change

One of the most discussed issues is related to urban mobility. The councilors confirmed that the prices of the "spider" (parking control), fines for illegal parking, and paid parking zones in Burgas remain unchanged. This decision is part of the update to the Ordinance for the determination and administration of local fees and service prices.

"Since we do not have a central budget, municipalities must work under conditions of limited resources. This is a necessary report and I call on you to support it," - commented councilor Elena Kokalarova regarding the budget forecasts.

Healthcare and new investments

Discussions focused on the management of municipal medical facilities. The Municipal Council determined the terms for a competition for managers of:

For the Complex Oncology Center, the purchase of new medical equipment was approved – an electrohydraulic operating table for urology and three ceiling surgical lights.

Pets and cultural initiatives

A new information guide has been adopted for the acquisition, breeding, and care of pets within the territory of the municipality. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov expressed concerns regarding previous attempts to introduce muzzles, which were challenged in court.

Another interesting initiative is the proposal to create a map of the homes and workplaces of famous personalities born in Burgas, which was adopted unanimously.

Infrastructure and cleaning

The municipality will apply for financial assistance for infrastructure construction in the fishing village of "Chengene Skele". Additionally, the company "Chistota" EOOD received approval to purchase a new bulldozer worth 300,000 euros.
