According to an analysis published by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency on June 18, 2025, Bulgaria ranks 28th out of 32 European countries in terms of the share of companies using artificial intelligence technologies. By the end of 2024, only 6.5% of Bulgarian enterprises had applied AI solutions, while the average level for the European Union is 13.5%.
The leading countries in Europe in terms of AI adoption are Denmark with around 30% and Sweden, Belgium, and Finland with around 25% of companies. Analysts note that while in the EU large corporations are leading in the adoption of AI technologies, in Bulgaria they remain rare, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises. Although the percentage of Bulgarian companies using AI has doubled compared to 2023, the pace of development is still insufficient.
