The new locomotives of BDZh will bear the names of famous Bulgarian Revival figures who contributed to the development of rail transport in the country. The initiative is a continuation of a previous project, with each locomotive containing a QR code linked to the respective historical figure.

The railway company "BDZ - Passenger Transport" EOOD is putting into operation three new locomotives, named after prominent Bulgarian revival figures - the writer Ivan Vazov and the revolutionaries Teophan Rainov and Radi Ivanov. This is a continuation of a previous initiative, where the first fifteen locomotives of the same series were named after Bulgarian rulers.

Each of the new locomotives will have a QR code that will lead passengers to a special section on the official BDZ website. There they will be able to learn about the life and work of the individuals whose names the machines bear, as well as their contribution to the development of rail transport in Bulgaria.

The introduction of the new locomotives is part of the gradual replacement of the outdated and worn-out machines, in order to improve the quality of passenger service and ensure maximum reliability of the trains on the main routes in the country.
