The American president blocked an Israeli plan to eliminate the Iranian spiritual leader.

US President Donald Trump has vetoed an Israeli plan to liquidate the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, report two anonymous US administration officials to Reuters. "Have the Iranians killed any Americans? No. Until they do, we don't even discuss attacking the political leadership," said one of the sources, a senior administration official.

According to the officials speaking on condition of anonymity, senior US officials have been in constant contact with their Israeli counterparts in recent days, after Israel carried out a major attack on Iran to stop its nuclear program.
