Plovdiv's regional administration has received 655,800 paper ballots for the presidential and vice-presidential election on 25 October, it said.
Of these, 340,400 are for electoral district 16, Plovdiv city, and 315,400 for electoral district 17, Plovdiv region.
The ballots came by lorry from a printing house in Sofia under police guard. The seals will be broken in front of Angela Kostadinova, chief secretary of the regional administration, and representatives of the two district election commissions.
There are enough ballots for paper voting in polling stations with fewer than 300 voters. Extra ballots remain for stations that prove they need to switch to paper voting.
Ballots for the presidential vote were sent to Burgas from a printing house in Sofia under heavy police guard, we reported on 16 October. All 751 polling stations in electoral district 2, Burgas, were to get paper ballots, while 494 stations in the region were to vote by machine.
Plovdiv's regional police directorate is guarding and storing the ballots. Officers will escort them to the district mayoralties and municipalities.
