A schoolboy stabbed by another boy of his age in Karnobat today is in a stable condition at the Heart and Brain hospital in Burgas, the hospital said.

He was admitted in a moderately serious condition. He has six deep wounds to the chest and a seventh in the mouth. His internal organs were not hit.

The attacker pulled out a knife after an argument, stabbed the boy in the back and ran off.

A team led by Dr Rumen Hristov treated the wounds. The boy is on antibiotics. Doctors are watching him closely, and the scans they are doing are for further assessment and to monitor his condition.
