Nessebar's Adapted Sports club has taken part in the second "Sliven Sports Together" event, Nessebar council said. The organisers invited the club.

In Sliven, games, songs and sport brought together children with special needs and children without disabilities.

The club's next event is an adapted swimming contest in Sofia in November. Coach Nadezhda Nedelcheva said it marks the anniversary of the National Sports Academy (NSA). "Children with special needs and typically developing children will again take part together, united by their love of sport," Nedelcheva said.

The council thanked the coach and the club's team for their dedication, persistence and effort in sport, communication and the social inclusion of children. It wished the Sofia participants success.

The council said taking part in Sliven is one more chance to promote inclusion. When children play sport together, the whole community gains, and the children learn to respect each other.

The council said such events fit Nessebar's social policy: sport for all, social inclusion and equal chances for every child to grow. By backing sport that includes children with special needs, it treats sport as a way to build social skills and confidence and to break down barriers between people. It says it wants a setting where every child takes an active part, develops their abilities and feels accepted and supported.
