Burgas is getting ready for the eighth edition of its iconic running festival, “Burgas Run,” which brings together both professional athletes and running enthusiasts. The event, which has established itself as the first of its kind in the country, will take place on Sunday, September 14, 2025, turning the city into a hub of sports activity.

The official start of the race will be given at exactly 09:00 a.m. in front of the “Sea Casino” Cultural Center — an iconic location that provides a picturesque backdrop for the start of the sports celebration. Participants will have the opportunity to choose between two main distances, each offering a unique challenge and a chance to enjoy the urban environment: 5 km and 10 km.

Routes and Courses

The routes are carefully planned to pass through some of the most significant streets and boulevards of Burgas. The 5-kilometer course takes participants from the Seaside Park, passing sequentially along "Bogoridi" Blvd., "Alexandrovska" St., "San Stefano" Blvd., "Konstantin Velichkov" St., "24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment" St., and "Pomoriyska" St., before returning to the park and the finish line at the “Sea Casino” Cultural Center.

For runners who choose the longer 10-kilometer distance, the route is extended to include more of the city's arteries. They will follow part of the same path but will continue along "Stefan Stambolov" Blvd., the roundabout at “Mirage” Hotel, "Nikola Petkov" Blvd., and "Dimitar Dimov" Blvd., before rejoining the final part of the shorter course and crossing the finish line.

Changes in Traffic Organization

The expected flow of competitors and supporting public will necessitate temporary changes in traffic organization. In the period from 08:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., delays are expected on the boulevards and streets included in the race route. The organizers urge citizens to plan their travel with increased caution, as the public transport schedule passing through these sections will also be disrupted during the specified interval. On-site, police teams will ensure the smooth running of the event, directing traffic and ensuring the safety of all participants and residents of the city.

As the participants prepare for the start, the atmosphere on the early Sunday morning promises to be full of energy. The sound of the mass start will echo along the coastal promenade, and the eyes of dozens of spectators will follow the runners' momentum. It is expected that residents of Burgas out for a morning walk will join in the applause and support the enthusiasm of the participants along the entire route.
