Nearly 1,200 people have signed up for the Burgas 2026 marathon on 15 November, the organisers said. Registration is open until 31 October.
The race will have a new start and finish area, which the organisers call attractive. They say it will improve the day for runners and spectators.
There are four distances. About 300 people have signed up for the 5km, about 350 each for the 10km and the 21km half marathon, and about 150 for the full 42km marathon. The organisers expect more amateur runners to join.
Runners of all ages are taking part, along with families, companies and partners who share a belief in an active, healthy life. The programme includes a free run for children. The organisers say it will let the youngest take their first steps in running.
This year the marathon has drawn more interest from sports and other brands, and some companies plan to enter their own staff. The organisers say this confirms that the marathon is a sporting event that promotes an active lifestyle and builds team spirit at work.
In mid-October we wrote about the amateur race "MMC-Burgas 3km Run" on the seafront promenade in Burgas. Nearly 200 runners from three continents took part in its third edition.
In the days before the start, the marathon's partners will present themselves at an expo. It will include meetings with brands, product displays, and activities on sport and healthy living. The organisers are also preparing surprises for the runners, guests and people of Burgas.
