The State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets (SCCEM) reports an increase in wholesale food prices in Bulgaria. The Market Price Index (MPI) increases by 0.88%. Vegetables (peppers, potatoes, zucchini), fruits (lemons, mandarins, oranges, apples) and some dairy products are becoming more expensive, while eggs are becoming cheaper.

The Chairman of the CPC, Alexander Kolyachev, announced over 7000 inspections in connection with the introduction of the euro, noting that the market is calm and stable. 700 acts and 170 penalty orders have been issued. Strategies for control are being developed jointly with the NRA.

Vegetables are getting more expensive this week, while fruit prices are falling, according to data from DKSBT. The market price index is rising. The biggest price increases are for peppers and zucchini. Prices fall for cabbage, carrots, apples, and oranges. Prices for dairy products and some basic goods are also changing.
Constitutional Court Rejects Referendum Request on Euro Adoption
The Constitutional Court (CC) dismissed the request of Members of Parliament to declare unconstitutional the parliament's decision not to hold a referendum on the introduction of the euro. The court ruled that the issue of the euro in 2026 cannot be subject to legal consequences, rendering the request inadmissible.
