If there is one explanation for why there are social tensions at the moment, without a formal or real cause, it is because such tensions have accumulated in recent years, said Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during the National Youth Academy of GERB in Razlog.

According to him, the government seemed somewhat more stable then, when in fact it was unstable, in the first months of its existence, and when there is very clear political and parliamentary support, they are trying to portray the cabinet as unstable, he added.

Zhelyazkov assured that the cabinet is currently functioning very well as a single body, regardless of the complex party configuration within it.

We were really pressed for time to submit a draft state budget, explained the Prime Minister and noted that GERB as a party has shown that it is sensitive regarding the reaction of society and its sentiments.

In his words, the political attacks will continue. Zhelyazkov noted the importance of discussions with social partners in relation to the budget, as the goal is to achieve consensus and trust.

The Prime Minister also pointed out that the discussion on the essential issues of the so-called socio-economic reforms, postponed for many years - both for the tax and social security model and where the role of the state as a redistributor is, will begin in 2026.
