Zelensky on strikes against Russia's energy infrastructure:
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the country's allies have urged Ukraine to reduce strikes on Russia's energy infrastructure. This comes against the backdrop of a worsening global fuel crisis.
“Our partners, our allies, they have appealed to us with a request [to soften the strikes],” Zelensky said.
However, Zelensky stressed that the cessation of these strikes will only occur if Russia ceases shelling Ukrainian infrastructure, particularly energy infrastructure.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is defending itself and responding to Russia's aggression.
Key points:
- Allies have called on Ukraine to soften the strikes.
- Zelensky stressed that the response will be proportionate.
- The global fuel crisis is an important factor.
Emphasis on the fact that the strikes will cease after the cessation of Russian aggression.
