End of illegal construction in the "Baba Alino" area
Today, the first orders for the forced demolition of 13 illegal buildings in the "Baba Alino" area are expected to be issued, announced Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev. The actions are part of a large-scale campaign to put an end to corrupt practices in the region.
"We have identified serious violations in the issuance of tolerance certificates, which will be subject to strict control," the municipal administration commented.
The scale of the problem
According to data from Regional Minister Ivan Shishkov, the number of unjustified tolerance certificates reaches 42. The problem is further deepened by the presence of illegal transformer stations that supply buildings outside the "Baba Alino" territory.
- Over 300 tolerance certificates have been checked throughout the territory of Varna.
- For more than 150 of them, there is no evidence that the buildings existed before the 2009 deadline.
- New inspections and administrative proceedings against violators are forthcoming.
The municipality is firm that the law will be applied without compromise to all those whose documents do not correspond to the actual state of the properties.
