The water in the towns of Kiten and Sveti Vlas is showing worrying indicators following the disastrous flood that hit the areas of the municipalities of Tsarevo and Nesebar. This was confirmed by the Regional Health Inspection in Burgas, which raises serious concerns for the health of the local population. The authorities warn that the water in the municipalities of Tsarevo and Nesebar should not be used for drinking until two consecutive normal results are registered. The publication of the results of the control samples taken from all affected settlements is expected soon.

Today, in response to the complicated situation, the regional governor of Burgas, Vladimir Krumov, convened an emergency coordination meeting between all institutions involved in dealing with the consequences of the floods. The tension is palpable as representatives of the different services discuss strategies to deal with the challenges.

With the stabilization of the meteorological situation, the clean-up efforts in the Elenite villa settlement are being activated. Today, until 5:00 PM, property owners will have limited pedestrian access to their homes through a specially created checkpoint. The teams are busy with the restoration of infrastructure and communications.

Elenite still lacks electricity and water, which is part of the safety measures taken by the authorities. To improve people_q_s awareness, the early warning system BG-Alert will be activated on the spot. The street lights are not working, and the silence is broken by the sound of machines working around the clock.

In the municipality of Nesebar, applications for declaring damages have already begun to be accepted. For the convenience of the residents, documents can also be submitted at the town hall in Sveti Vlas. About 100 people are accommodated in facilities provided by the municipality, where they are provided with food and care. The education in the schools in Sveti Vlas, Kosharitsa, Nesebar, Sunny Beach and Ravda will continue online until Thursday inclusive, while kindergartens are operating normally.

The deputy mayor of Tsarevo municipality, Denis Dihanov, assured that cleaning and infrastructure restoration activities are being actively carried out in all affected settlements.
