Bulgaria's health ministry says patients' electronic health records now include a new "dental check-ups" section. It pulls data dentists enter into the national health information system and shows everything logged there for each patient.
Patients can view the records through the eZdrave app or its web version. On phones, the new section works once users update the app to version 2026.9.30.
A button called "your dental status" opens a chart of the teeth — both permanent and baby teeth. Clicking on a single tooth brings up the check-ups and treatment linked to it.
Each check-up record shows the state of the teeth, the treatment given and any documents attached to it. It also shows which dentist carried out the check-up, at which clinic, the start and end dates of treatment, and how it was paid for. The treatment records show exactly what work was done and on which teeth.
The section updates automatically every time a new check-up is entered into the system. Old records are not deleted, so the full history of each tooth stays visible.
The ministry says that among all the features of the health record, the ability to track dental check-ups draws the most interest from users.
