This year, environmental organizations are again warning about the dangers of fireworks and firecrackers. They are appealing for Christmas and New Year's celebrations without pyrotechnics, which can cause stress to animals, but also to people.
Fireworks and firecrackers can bring a festive mood, but sudden bangs and bright flashes can cause intense fear and anxiety in people and animals, wrote the “Four Paws“ foundation on its Facebook page.
“New Year's Eve is one of the most stressful nights of the year for animals, as many of them experience signs of anxiety such as trembling and hiding, and often attempt to escape,“ said “Four Paws“ and added that pyrotechnics also cause stress to wild animals and pollute the environment.
“The holidays are approaching! Let's celebrate them with thought for the world around us,“ appealed the environmental organization “Green Balkans“. They recalled the case of dead and injured birds near Koprivshtitsa, which are believed to have been victims of stress as a result of pyrotechnic products.
