Gusts up to 45 km/h are the news of the day
The northern wind is strengthening and you will feel it as soon as you step outside. It is blowing at an average of about 20 kilometers per hour, reaching 45 at times, which is more than the last two days. On the coastal promenade, at the Bridge, and in the open areas of Meden Rudnik, it will be considerably colder than what the thermometer shows: at 22 degrees at noon, the body feels about 19. Rain is not expected, the probability is 23 percent.
For people who monitor the weather regarding their head and blood pressure, today's combination is relatively mild. The air is dry, humidity drops to 41 percent at noon, which is low for September by the sea. The dry air and constant wind dry out the throat and nose, so carry water, especially if you are outdoors for several hours. Windy days with such a northern current are usually felt more heavily by people with neck and head problems, but there will be no sharp change in pressure today.
15 degrees in the morning, 22 at noon, 19 at 8 in the evening
At 8 o'clock it is clear and cool, 15 degrees, humidity 64 percent, so children on their way to school and people leaving early for work will need a jacket. By noon, the clouds thicken, the temperature rises to 22, and moisture drops. In the evening at 8 o'clock, it remains 19 degrees with a cloudy sky and almost no probability of a drop. The sun rises at 07:03 and sets at 18:57, and there is sunny weather for about 9 of the 12 light hours, quite more than in recent days.
The UV index is 2, quite low, you don't even need cream for a long walk. The air is clean, the European index shows 27, which is a good value, and outdoor workouts can proceed without worry. If you are running or cycling, watch the direction: heading north up the coast will seem twice as difficult, so do the heavy part first, and the easy part on the way back.
The sea is 23 degrees and the waves are up to 70 centimeters
The water is still holding at 23 degrees, more than the air in the morning. The waves are up to 0.7 meters, it's not a mirror, but it's not dangerous either. For swimming near the shore in Sarafovo and Kraymorie, the day is becoming suitable, provided you go in at noon when the air is warmest. Getting out of the water in this wind is the unpleasant part, so bring a towel and a dry t-shirt.
On this date in 1996, nearly 19 mm fell
The usual for September 28 is around 22 degrees maximum, so today's 22 is slightly above normal. The warmest on this date was in 2006, almost 22 degrees, but it rained over 4 mm then. The other extreme was 1996 with barely 17 degrees and nearly 19 millimeters of rain for the day. Last year on the same date, it was 12 to 19 degrees and dry. In recent years, this date passes without precipitation, and the day is 2 to 3 degrees warmer than three decades ago.
What to wear and how to drive
Dress in layers: a t-shirt or a thin blouse, with a jacket or a vest on top that you can take off at noon. The same for children, plus a hat if they leave early. Walks are most pleasant between 12 and 16 o'clock, when it is also warmest. Behind the wheel, be careful in open sections, at the exit to Sarafovo, on the bypass road, and on the bridge over Kaboplet, where gusts push the car sideways, and motorcyclists and minibuses feel them most strongly. The dry asphalt helps, but in such wind, leaves from the embankments fly onto the road.
Tomorrow the weather turns: light rain around 5 mm, 15 to 19 degrees, and wind from the north up to 40 km/h.
