Forecast for the next 24 hours
Over the next 24 hours, the weather in the country will be mostly cloudy, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) announced. During the night, there will be rainfall mainly in southwestern Bulgaria, and during the day in the mountainous and northern regions, as well as along the Southern Black Sea coast. In the mountains above about 1000 meters, the precipitation will be snow. It will remain windy with a moderate, in Eastern Bulgaria and temporarily strong northeast wind, which will weaken during the night hours. Minimum temperatures will be between minus 1° and 4°, along the Black Sea coast up to 6°-7°, and maximum – between 7° and 12°. In Sofia, the minimum temperature will be around 2°, and the maximum – around 7°. Atmospheric pressure is close to the monthly average, will slightly decrease and will be slightly lower than average.
Weather on the Black Sea coast
The Black Sea coast will be mostly cloudy, mainly along the southern coast with rainfall. A moderate to strong east-northeast wind will be blowing. Maximum temperatures will be between 8° and 11°. The sea water temperature is 7°-9°. Sea swell will be 3-4 points.
Weather in the mountains
In the mountains it will be mostly cloudy, with snowfall in places. A moderate and temporarily strong east-northeast wind will be blowing. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 0°, at 2000 meters – around minus 4°.
Weekend forecast
On Friday, the wind will be from the north-northeast, on Saturday - from the east-northeast, mostly moderate. Cloudy weather will prevail and on the first day there will be rainfall in places, in the mountains – snow. Significant amounts are not expected. In the Fore-Balkan and in the high fields, mainly during the night and morning hours, the rain will mix and temporarily turn into snow. Then it will also be the coldest, with prevailing minimum temperatures between minus 2° and 3° and maximum - between 5° and 10°.
On Saturday the likelihood of precipitation is small. It will warm up slightly and daytime temperatures will be between 7° and 12°.
