During the night and tomorrow, with the passage of a cold atmospheric front, the synoptic situation will worsen, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH). It will be cloudy, the precipitation will continue, and in places it will be significant in quantity and, in isolated places along the front, accompanied by thunderstorms. With the decrease in temperatures in a large part of the country, the rain will turn into snow and a snow cover will form mainly in Northern Bulgaria and the mountainous regions.
In the evening from the northwest, the precipitation will stop. The wind throughout the country will turn from the northwest, will strengthen and with it cold air will rush in. In the Upper Thracian Lowland and the Danube Plain, it will be strong with gusts to stormy. There will be conditions for snowdrifts on the mountain passes and in Ludogorie, and for black ice in the northwestern regions. The temperatures will remain almost without a diurnal variation - from minus 1° - minus 3° in the northwest to 13°-15° in the southeastern regions. In Sofia, the expected minimum temperature will be minus 3°, and the maximum - around minus 2°.
The atmospheric pressure will increase during the day, but will remain below the monthly average. On the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy and windy. There will be rain, in isolated places with thunderstorms. A moderate and strong wind will blow from the west-northwest. The maximum temperatures will be 12° - 16°. The temperature of the sea water is 9°-11°. The sea swell will be 3-4 Beaufort.
Over the mountains, it will be cloudy and windy. There will be precipitation, in places with thunderstorms and significant in the Rila-Rhodope region, and with the decrease in temperatures, it will turn into snow in the lower parts as well. A strong and stormy wind will blow from the west-northwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 0°, at 2000 meters - around minus 5°.
During the night to Friday, the cloud cover will decrease and sunny weather will prevail on Friday. After noon, from the west, the cloud cover will begin to increase again, and in the evening and during the night to Saturday, there will be snow in places in Western Bulgaria. The wind will weaken, it will turn from the south. Cold weather with minimum temperatures between minus 8° and minus 3°, maximum - between 1° and 6°. On Saturday, it will be cloudy with snow, in the Upper Thracian Lowland and the southeastern regions - with rain. The wind will be weak to moderate from the south, later in the day it will turn from the northwest. The minimum temperatures will rise and will be around zero, and the maximums will be from 1°-2° in the northwest to 10°-11° in the southeastern regions.
