An Air Force crew with a C-27J „Spartan“ aircraft completed a mission to transport a medical team in a donor situation, the Ministry of Justice announced.
The crew is from the 16th Air Base - Vrazhdebna. They provided air transport from Sofia to Varna and back for medical teams from the University Hospital „Alexandrovska“ during the donor situation for organ transplantation.
The aircraft took off at 15:33 on December 17 to Varna Airport and landed back at „Vasil Levski“ Sofia Airport at 01:29 on December 18, 2028. The task of providing air transport for the medics was successfully completed.
The commander of the crew was Major Nikolay Georgiev, assistant commander Major Zhasmina Hristova and flight engineer Major Miroslav Pipev.
BTA recalls that in February, Air Force crews with „Spartan“ aircraft performed two missions to provide transport for medical teams - in connection with a donor situation and the transport of a sick child.
