Divers pulled rubbish from the seabed near the Bridge in Burgas on Black Sea Day. The group "Friends of the Sea - Burgas" organised the clean-up, with help from divers from Varna and Sofia. On Friday the group said the event would be held on Saturday, starting at 11am.
The divers also found oysters under the Bridge. They say this is probably a good sign for the water quality in the area.

Metal and plastic waste, lead weights, tangled brass, broken fishing gear, glass bottles and jars were brought ashore. The divers also lifted car tyres, phones and a cash register from the bottom. They found a horseshoe too.
The motto of the event was "Let's keep the sea and the coast clean together". The weather was good.
"The sea is not just for us, it is for everyone who comes after us," Ivaylo Lyubenov of "Friends of the Sea - Burgas" told BNT. He said sea life can only be kept if the sea itself is protected. Lyubenov hopes more people will understand that the sea cannot be taken for granted and must be looked after.
Diver Plamen Dimitrov said he and his colleagues are happy because their city is beautiful, in a beautiful place and by the sea. He said people can swim or sit on the shore, enjoy the sea and think. "We love nature, the sea, we grew up with them. They are dear to us and we want them to be clean," he added.
The clean-up of the seabed near the Bridge has been a tradition for years. It is held twice a year: at the start of summer and after the season ends.
