Victoriada, dedicated to the life and work of one of the most significant and unforgettable artists in the history of Burgas - Georgi Shagunov, was held in the seaside city, marking a significant event filled with culture and memory. The event, which took place in the heart of the city, brought together students from the Trade High School and the Music School NUMSI “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”, who joined efforts to honor the memory of the renowned composer.

The participants from the two educational institutions presented the biography of Georgi Shagunov, revealing to the public his life and significant contribution to the music scene. The atmosphere was filled with respect and inspiration, while the students, with pride, shared stories about the life of the artist.

The main goal of this initiative was to keep alive the memory of worthy individuals, passing it on from generation to generation. To determine the winner, the teams from the two schools competed in a total of six rounds, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the life and work of Georgi Shagunov. The organizer of this special victoriada was the Trade High School, which this year celebrates 120 years since its founding.

The organizers of the event emphasized the importance of such initiatives. "We want to remind the people of Burgas of the forgotten deeds of some worthy people in their series “The Worthy Unknowns”," they shared.

They expressed their confidence that by presenting "The Worthy Unknowns" of Burgas, the city will continue to affirm its status as a place of culture and inspiration.

The Music School “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” was a gracious host of the victoriada, which further emphasized the cooperation and respect between the two educational institutions.

Both schools are actively involved in Burgas's endeavor to be selected as the European Capital of Culture in 2032.

In front of the house of the bandmaster, whose second floor was acquired by the Municipality of Burgas and is to be converted into a recording studio, the winners of the essay competition on the theme “Georgi Shagunov” will be announced. The triumph of the winners will be celebrated to the sounds of the March of Independence - one of the most famous works by Georgi Shagunov, performed by the students from NUMSI “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”.
