Security camera footage from a prison hospital has spread on social media, showing a man fighting with another in a corridor. The recording is dated November 16, 2022. The decree in which vice president Iliyana Yotova pardoned drug trafficker Ognyan Atanasov, known as "the Petrich Escobar," is dated December 5, 2022 — three weeks later.
According to claims online, the man in the footage is Atanasov. Court security staff enter the corridor after the fight, which means the incident should have been reported.
The man in the video looks to be in excellent physical shape, and that has raised questions about why Atanasov was pardoned.
