The Complex Oncology Centre (KOC) in Burgas has invited women who have had breast cancer to an evening called "White Swallow" on 14 October. It starts at 6pm in the exhibition hall of the Peyo Yavorov Regional Library, the centre said.
The talks will cover women, fear and courage, unspoken questions, support, and life after diagnosis.
Assoc. Prof. Dr Asya Konsulova will speak about treatment and the road after diagnosis. Psychologist Maria Slaveykova will talk about what people feel inside when their lives change. Dr Ani Dragolova will cover care and prevention.
Two of the speakers have had the disease. One is a patient, who will talk about her own experience of it. The other, Irina Dimova, is a nurse at the Complex Oncology Centre in Burgas. She has also had breast cancer and now works with the centre's patients.
The organisers also invite the relatives of these women. They ask guests to bring women who need support now, and they welcome anyone who thinks cancer should be talked about in a more humane way.
