Vasil Terziev: The successes of Tsolov and Dimitrov show the strength of character
Bulgaria needs examples like Nikola Tsolov and Grigor Dimitrov, stated Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev on social media. According to him, the achievements of the two athletes remind young people that great victories are forged long before the finish line.
"They remind our children that great victories do not begin at the finish line. They begin much earlier – with character," the capital's mayor wrote.
The hard work behind success
Terziev emphasized that the sporting achievements of Tsolov and Dimitrov are the result of many years of effort, which often remain "invisible" to fans:
- Early training sessions;
- Missed holidays;
- Overcoming injuries;
- Thousands of hours of preparation and discipline.
Significant achievements of the Bulgarian athletes
The reason for the congratulations was the series of successes of the two Bulgarians on the international stage:
- Nikola Tsolov: A dominant victory in the Formula 3 British Grand Prix race (editor's note: according to the context of the competitions).
- Grigor Dimitrov: Qualifying for the fourth round of Wimbledon after a dramatic five-set victory over Matteo Berrettini.
The Mayor of Sofia thanked the athletes for making Bulgarians feel proud and for reminding us what our talents are capable of when driven by perseverance and willpower.
