Valentino Garavani passed away today at his home in Rome, surrounded by his loved ones. This is stated in a post on the Instagram profile of his foundation.
On Wednesday and Thursday this week, his remains will be on display in a mourning hall in Rome, and everyone who wishes to can say goodbye to the designer.
His funeral will be on Friday.
Valentino Garavani is the creator of the fashion brand "Valentino" and several other brands. In the mid-60s, he was known as the maestro of Italian fashion. His clients and personal friends included Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline Kennedy, and others.
In 2004, he revealed that he was homosexual. And three years later, in 2007, he retired from active work in the fashion business. The last fashion show with his designs was in 2008 in Paris.
