Regional Historical Museum - Burgas and L`Europeo magazine announce a student film competition on the theme "Living Cultural Heritage". The initiative is aimed at students aged 13 to 19 from schools in Burgas Region.

It aims to encourage and motivate young audiences to get to know the cultural heritage and to realize its importance for local communities, and from there to accept its preservation and storage as a personal cause.

Participants are given the opportunity to create a video story based on a historical event or person, cultural or natural objects, family and ancestral memory, related to the history of Burgas and the settlements in Burgas region.

By including personal stories, traditional knowledge and skills (crafts, cuisine, folklore, legends, traditions), meetings between generations with a focus on objects of cultural heritage (buildings, fortresses, cult places from different historical periods), young film creators will be able to present their views on why cultural and natural heritage is important for every representative of the local community.

The beginning of the competition is March 30, 2026. The deadline for submitting the works is July 1, 2026.

After the winners are announced, all video stories will be published on the website of RIM - Burgas and on L`Europeo magazine. It is planned that the awarded works will participate in a separate session in the program of the DOCK Festival for historical documentary cinema in Burgas in September 2026.
