Three drivers have been detained in the Burgas region for operating vehicles with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 1.9 per mille. Fast-track police proceedings have been initiated in all cases.
The first incident was recorded on September 4 at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Volga Street in the Pobeda neighborhood of Burgas. Officers from the First District Police Department stopped a 57-year-old local resident for a check, and the breathalyzer registered 3.06 per mille of alcohol. The man was detained for a period of 24 hours.
Later that same day, around 10:30 p.m. in the village of Kosharitsa, a single-vehicle accident occurred. A 38-year-old man from Sliven struck both curbs of the road on 23rd of September Street in succession. The device registered 1.90 per mille, and after the driver refused to provide a blood sample, he was also taken into custody for 24 hours.
The third case took place on September 6, when a traffic accident was reported around 10:20 p.m. in the Lazur residential complex. The driver left the scene of the accident near block 48, but the investigation determined that the vehicle was being driven by a 30-year-old woman from Burgas. An alcohol test showed 2.42 per mille. The woman refused a chemical analysis and was detained.
